VODKA, DANCING AND A BIT OF CHAOS

POLISH WEDDINGS

THE DETAILS

Please arrive between 15:30 and 15:45! Weather permitting, we’ll hold the ceremony outdoors, starting promptly at 16:00.

The ceremony will take around 30 minutes and will be led in both English and Polish.

At Polish weddings, it’s tradition for guests to queue up after the ceremony to share their well-wishes with the newlyweds. We’d love to combine this custom with a cocktail hour so you can enjoy a drink and soak up the sun. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the celebration indoors.

There will be PLENTY of food throughout the night! In true Polish fashion, food and drink are at the heart of the celebration, so rest assured you won’t go hungry. The evening will feature several sit-down courses served across three sittings, offering a delicious mix of Polish and European cuisines. Additionally, there will be a cold buffet table, which will be regularly re-stocked to keep everyone satisfied throughout the night.

Vodka

& Bimber

Get ready for some traditional Polish wedding fun – vodka shots instead of champagne toasts! In Poland, vodka (and bimber, a stronger local spirit) is an essential part of the celebration.

For those who prefer not to drink vodka, wine will be served during the main dinner, and after dinner, a bartender will be mixing drinks from a variety of spirits. There will also be some beers available, and to add a touch of British flair, Luke will be bringing along some gin. When the bar closes at 1 a.m., self-service drink stations and plenty of shots will ensure the party keeps going into the early hours.

Oczepiny is a traditional Polish wedding custom that takes place around midnight. It involves light-hearted games that guests can get involved in such as catching the bride's bouquet.

Afterwards, the party continues with music and a DJ until 5am.

From midnight onwards, we’ll have a car running between the venue, Hotel Szary, and central Kraków. The transport will be running roughly every hour, depending on drop-off locations.

Since travelling to Poland is already a big expense, we kindly request that you don't bring any wedding gifts. Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for!
